My photography is governed by my interest in capturing the passage of time, be it years, or seasons, or centuries. In my photography I hope to show the beauty that can be revealed by use, aging, deterioration and abandonment. The shapes and colours and textures that result from aging and abandonment fascinate me. An observer once noted that my work has a "painterly quality" and I continue to strive for that quality.
I spent much of my life doing legal work so I embrace the liberty and creativity that photography affords me. With no formal training in art or photography I have eagerly embarked on a journey of self-education. I am a member of ArtsPay in Waterloo Region and I have been involved in a number of juried shows in the area. My work has been seen in Gallery M in Cambridge and it is currently held in a number of collections, both public and private.
